Lore

Welcome to Terremond! Home of the Wager. While most of humanity is oblivious to the supernatural workings around them, they accept what they see as performance, or illusion, only accepting that the monstrosities they are witnessing are humans themselves performing amazing acts or questionable deeds.

The supernatural, otherworldly, and otherwise non-human contingents of Terremond find themselves in a very odd place, where they are outnumbered by the mortals around them, influenced by them, but have their own ideas for what the people should do with their lives.

Because the other-beings of Terremond have such power, and many believe strongly the same way on how humanity should be treated...each year, various other-beings gather in a place called the wager, where they bet to decide the fate of Humanity for the coming eternity.

They wager is agreed upon by the other-beings beforehand: Whichever troupe, group, or hodge-podge assortment of beings enters the bet, does so knowing that THEY must awe and entertain humanity better than any other group. In the earliest Wager, the bet was made among 4 troupes. The Cirqdia - Beings from the depths of the Nether-Vale, these corrupt and sinister creatures long for the enslavement and sadistic torture of humanity once the coming eternity happens. Led by a large Belia named the Gran' Cirqe, these circus performers awe the audience with amazing acrobatics and hilarious antics. They use fire and heat in all of their shows, and the audience stays in constant awe of the grand show they put on.

The Sangwynn - These creatures live on Terremond as predators, but they have a vale of reality that allows them entry into the Everlife, which grants them immortality while they walk the earth. These Vampyrs feed off of the humans of Terremond and enter the wager longing to keep humanity to themselves as food for the coming eternity. Led by Carletta, this acting troupe serves dinner to their audience and tears into the blood and flesh of their "acting" victims in front of the social elite, all the while the humans know only what they see as an act of horror to enjoy and fear.

The Grandius - High above Terremond, the beings of the Overpass have watched below them the comings and goings of humanity. Often the muses and inspiration for humanity's most creative and passionate peoples, the Grandius see humanity as moments away from reaching their true potential. The Grandius enter the wager wanting only to help humanity to thrive and prosper, hoping they will one day reach nirvana. Led by the Prima Donna Immyzen, these operezo singers belt out the best songs and most beautiful props anyone could ask for.

The Morphos - Dwindling in numbers, the changelings live among the denizens of Terremond as tricksters and pranksters. However, a cult like following has been amassing behind the charismatic auph leader known as Laithen Fields. Rather than accept their place among the humans, Laithen and his auph followers want only to replace humanity as the dominant species. They enter the wager to do just that, using illusions and spectacular magics to put on thrilling and curious shows, with the sole purpose of taking the place of every human they encounter. . Travelers - Travelers are considered the work for hire other-beings, rather than siding with one troupe or another, travelers tend to stay neutral, working for the troupe that offers them the best incentives. Travelers themselves tend to be amazing assistants and off-stage helpers. These ragtag troubadours travel Terremond to showcase their amazing talents with whoever will allow them to perform and can be of any type of other-being that lives on Terremond.
